Textiles & Fiber Arts
Textiles and fibers have long been the foundation of my creative work - from sewing and altering thrift store finds as a teenager, to working professionally as a textile designer, to weaving, knitting, and dyeing pieces for my own personal projects.
I have a wide range of experience in both technical and handmade aspects of design, with experience in CAD/pattern development, pattern repeats, as well as extensive color work. Formerly, I was a textile designer at Ralph Lauren Home, where I focused mostly on bedding and table linens, though my talents are not limited to home furnishings. I am experienced in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and its application to textile and graphic design, as well as the power of color and its context in products.
On the other end of the spectrum, I am passionate about the historical and tactile side of textile design, and am particularly drawn to ancient, lo-fi techniques like shibori, hand dyeing and weaving, including card/tablet & backstrap weaving. Occasionally I am available for contract/freelance work.
